Our Story

Amanah Youth Club (AYC) was founded by Laiba Dossul and Mayeda Melad, two recently graduated Secondary English teachers with a shared passion for nurturing the next generation of young Muslims. Laiba is based in East London, while Mayeda is based in South East London, allowing us to serve and support communities across both areas.

Alhamdulillah, we launched AYC in the summer of 2025 with a simple but meaningful vision: to create a welcoming space where young Muslims can learn about their faith in a fun, engaging, and inspiring way.

Our Name — Amanah

The name Amanah means trust or responsibility, reflecting the values at the heart of our organisation.

We believe that nurturing, educating, and supporting our young people is an amanah entrusted to us by Allah (SWT), and we strive to fulfil that responsibility with sincerity, care, and excellence.

Empowering young Muslim girls aged 18 and under across London.

Safe & Supportive Space

We are especially passionate about providing a safe, supportive environment for girls aged 18 and under to build confidence, form friendships, and strengthen their connection with Islam.

Our aim is to host regular events and activities across East and South East London, making Islamic learning accessible, enjoyable, and community-focused.
